Before submitting documents, it is useful to remember that the key support for entrepreneurs in Spain is provided by ATA (Asociación de Trabajadores Autónomos) — the Association of Self-Employed Entrepreneurs. It provides advice on launching and running a business, helps with document preparation and obtaining a business plan approval certificate.
To obtain a business plan approval certificate from ATA, you need to provide the following set of documents:
Business plan
Profit and loss statement
Investment and financing calculation
User questionnaire
Declaration of data accuracy
NIE/passport. NIE (both sides) or the first page of your passport
Educational documents.
We attach educational and professional development documents if they correlate with the planned activity:
Higher or secondary education diploma
Course completion certificates, etc.
Resume in Spanish. It confirms your experience and skills in this field of activity (or a closely related one).
General bank statement with balance. You need to show the balance of money in your account — for starting the business and for living expenses (showing money for business is mandatory, for living expenses — desirable, as it increases the probability of approval).
Proof of investments (invoices). If any investments have already been made — we attach invoices.
Pre-contracts / letters from clients. Usually, when we talk about your own business (cuenta propia), you need to show letters from clients. These letters confirm interest in your business and help convince immigration authorities of the reality of your plans.
